I‘m Luis Murillo, a Technical Consultant and Photographer. I specialize in the Tape and Optical storage area and also in software support for a big international company. Besides my passion for technology I’ve taken up photography and specialize in lifestyle and photojournalism.
I currently live in Costa Rica, Central America. I work, play and live here. Most of my photography is done in the natural scenery that Costa Rica is so famous for, there are some photography from other locations like the US and Taiwan. I’m mostly interested in Macro photography and also in candid photos at events as they capture the real emotion of people. Currently my camera is a Nikon D60 DSLR, which is my main camera, and have taken most of my new photos with it and I also have a Panasonic Lumix DMC-LZ3 with which I have taken most, if not all, of the old photos that are on my Flickr account and that you can see in the Photography section.
This blog was originally created back when I was still taking my programming courses in the university, I would just write about the projects and explain the issues and solutions, but after the whole university was left on hold there were no more projects to post and to be honest I have been busy with other things and have left programming a little bit on the side, so I went on to writing about anything else that bothers me or that I consider good enough to write an article about. Also, since I’ve gotten into photography, I’ll be writing about the photos that I take or new things that I learn from the subject.
Well, that’s because I’m not much of a writer when it comes to…well, anything really. I have written some material before but nothing that complex or interesting. I also have other things to do and my blog is just a space and something I like to do sometimes so that’s basically why I don’t update everyday or every week. Though I’m working to getting a post at least twice a week.
Well you can use my photos as long as you give credit where it’s due and don’t use it for profit or any public advertisement. If you would like to use any of my photos for commercial ads or related reasons please contact me previously to get a written permission from me. If you would like to link the photo on your blog or would like to print it feel free to do so and if you post it on a blog just write to me so that I can visit your post and link to it from my blog.
Sure, just write to me and I can process the photo at a bigger resolution. Once again the above applies so please also state the reason for the request.
I have my Panasonic Lumix DMC-LZ3 point-and-shoot camera which I used as my main camera and now it’s mostly used by my parents. I also have my first DSLR which is a Nikon D60. I also have four lenses, one is the Nikkor DX 18-55mm G lens, the other is the Nikkor 70-300mm G lens, the Nikkor 50mm f/1.8 prime lens and the Nikkor 55-200mm lens. To edit my photos I use my Windows machine with Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 2 and Adobe Photoshop CS3 Extended. I’m by far an expert at Photoshop so I use Boutwell’s Totally Rad Actions. I shoot in RAW mode now and take the time to process the photos afterwards since I love the flexibility that this format provides in the processing of the images.

Well a lot of hard work has been placed into making this blog a reality and most of it, specially the website design and coding have been done by other very talented people who deserve recognition.
First of all and most importantly I must thank the creators of Wordpress since that’s the software script that’s being used throughout the Code|Beta site.
The theme of the site was specifically designed for this site.
For the Photography section I’m using the NextGen Gallery plugin for Wordpress.
The slideshow of images in the header of the site is done with the NextGen Smooth Gallery and with the NextGen Gallery.
Commenting is done through the IntenseDebate service.
All of my photographs can be viewed on the Photography section or the Flickr photostream.
All of the writing in the posts and the photography shown on this site is Copyrighted unless otherwise noted.
