Photos from yesterday’s photowalk at Code|Beta

I’ve managed to go through the 100+ photos I took of the photowalk and get the best 32 images to post on the Flickr group that was created. Little was done in the post processing of these photos though some did go through a couple of Boutwell’s actions.

One of the things I was able to manage was to get blue skies which generally just come out as a big white area of my photo and this is due to the use of the polarizing lens that I recently got. I’m still getting used to it given that it’s a circular one and has between 3x and 4x so it’s another element that I need to think about.

I actually enjoyed photographing the other members of the group while they were trying to get a photo of something in the park

Luckily we didn’t run into any other person approaching or harassing us because we were walking around taking photos. There was one group of people who were giving horse rides and when two members of the group went to take photos of the horses they were saying that it was one dollar so that we could photograph the horses but they were just saying it and didn’t move from where they were sitting, the funny thing is that they were saying that it was one dollar because the two members of the group were from the US and to the locals they were charging us a thousand colones, which is roughly two dollars, so we went along joking about the difference in price and how it was cheaper for tourist and not for the locals. There was another group of teens that walked by us and started making comments but just went on their way so we ignored them. But most of the people were ok with us photographing them so I managed to snap these shots

And the couple in the second shot actually took the suggestion from one of the members of the group so that he could get a good shot of the couple, he asked them to look at each other and so they did. I have a couple more photos of the little girl eating her ice cream with, I assume, her mother.

The other members have also started to upload the photos that they took to the Flickr group that was created for this since the dateline is this Tuesday at midnight and I’ll have to choose one photo that day so that it can be submitted to the other group so that it’s eligible to win the grand prize and honestly I really hope we win ^_^

Everyone liked the activity so much that they want to organize another one later on. Tentatively the next activity will be in Heredia.
