Sarah’s Baptism

This Saturday 28th was my niece’s baptism and I was asked by my sister to be the godfather to which I accepted without thinking about it. I also took the chance to take some photos from the event and since I was not able to take photos during the ceremony since I was part of it my dad took my camera, set in auto, and took the photos during the ceremony.

Costa Ricans are known for being late and this was no exception. The event started late but didn’t take a full hour to finish which was quite good since there were more children there that were attending the ceremony and they were getting tired of being there. Nowadays these ceremonies aren’t just done one per child it’s done in a group where there could be around 10 children or even more in some cases.

After the ceremony we headed to a restaurant which my sister had already arrange to host the party after the ceremony and I took my chance to get some more photos here. It was something a bit more formal and there wasn’t much room for dancing but at least it was quite a good practice in preparation for that wedding I want to shoot one day…and let me tell you I still have quite a long way to go but I’m getting there. These are my favorites from the event:

I was recalling the images that are so common from those wedding photographers that I admire so much and wanted to do something in the lines of those…but the dress isn’t that big that can be hanged from a window so I chose that shot and it came out quite well :)
For the white balance I actually used the dress since it’s white..hehe
