Long time, no write…
Well, there have been numerous gaps between the posts and I apologize for this, since I have been quite busy lately. Let’s see, for starters I’m training a new group of agents for my department where I work and my family is planning a trip to Taiwan to visit my sister.
Well, some of you might already know that my younger sister is in Taiwan studying, so my family is in the process of getting a trip to that island planned and executed. Right now we are on the stages of getting everyone ready for the flying part, meaning that we are getting our passports up to date and getting the visas for those of us that don’t have it. We still need to make the reservations that are necessary as well as making the plans of how much time we are staying over there, because we can’t all stay for the same period of time, specially because of work. My older sister and my dad are staying a week in Taipei because dad has to go back to classes and my older sister has to go to work, my mom is staying for a longer period of time.
In my case it’s still on the don’t know side, because I still need to know if I’m going for a week to Taipei and then going to either Redding California or to New York to visit some friends or if I’m staying all the two weeks in that Asian country. Mostly because I want to go to California and visit an ex-girlfriend but I need to find out if it’s ok with her for me to go.
Other than the trip, which will be blogged every step of the way, well as long as I can get an Internet connection in the way. I have been assigned the first of three waves, that’s what they call each of the groups of agents that are in training, to train so that they can support the products that my department supports. This because the department is getting bigger, so they needed to hire more people. The training has been going good so far and the agents have been able to handle the UNIX OS that we support, specially since they all come from the Windows world, they nearly freaked out when they saw a command line, well some of them, because there are some agents that have studied computer engineering and have some knowledge of what a command line is and have used the one that comes with Windows, though that is merely a simulation of what it once was.
I guess that is all for now. Check back later, I will be posting some more
