So,it’s been a while since I last wrote anything on this site, well to be honest with you I haven’t been to this site in quite some time. So, what have I been up to? Where did I go?…
I haven’t been up to much, been working and did put studying on hold, despite what everyone else says about the subject.
I have also been watching videos on YouTube, specially those vlogs that some people have. I have been watching videos by Brookers, Boogerdeeunit and Lonelygirl15. Also watching some music videos and some fan videos to other music videos like Lynn’s video to the song Pretty Baby from Vanessa Carlton. One video that has caught my attention and is really funny is the Mime that acts out the song Torn by Natalie Imbruglia.
Work has been going great and I’m now a supervisor for my team. I don’t plan on staying very long here, we all gotta keep moving forward of course.
Amongst that, I have been working on some projects, which include reconfiguring the firewall, setting up a DNS server and finishing the configuration of the storage server. I still don’t know if the storage server will run on Ubuntu or if it would be better to have it running under another OS or Distro.
The idea of a VPN has been taken out completely out of the picture, since this was originally thought as a way for my sister to connect to the home network and for me to be able to connect to her machine over Remote Desktop in order to do maintenance tasks on her laptop. But I later found out that using Remote Assistance (RA) was a lot better, because she would be able to see what I was doing and for me to get access to her laptop remotely. The biggest issue with RA is that if I get disconnected, she would have to generate a new invitation in order for me to connect to her machine, because the original invitation expired. But this works for the time being, when she installs Linux on her laptop, then what we would do is connect via reversed SSH tunnel.
Well, that’s about all that is happening right now. Wonder what will happen next.
